The Jams from 1991-1992 are now up and all are from John Potenza's weekly cassette recordings of the sessions. THanks John! Also, you can hear the amazing Doug Walker Memorial Jam that took place in August 2006 at the Sweatshop Studios in Brooklyn NY. All start line up of members from the last and most productive phase of AP life... Enjoy..... Just in thanks to John Loffink, Atomville and The Right Stuff/Galactic Evolution both from 1982! Thanks to John Potenza, I have updated the information on what was suppose to be the first AP CD back in 1991, Closer than you Think. The exact dates and info about the session and the titles are now up. I will soon add some jam sessions from 1991-1992 era as well.

Well, today is a sad day. It is one year since Doug left this earth. Goddamn, I miss him and his creative spirit. Luckily, his music will live on with this web site. The way things are going in he world and the USA, Doug is missing out on a lot of ugly stuff... At least we can live for the music...

Xkurzhen Sound has just rereleased the Alien Planetscapes cassette, "A Visitation" that was recorded in early 1988. It is a limited edition of 61 copies in a cool slim DVD case. The CD is available from this site.. I am hoping to received some more new material in the next few months as well as other than video, I don't have any more material to add at this time.

An interview from before Strange Daze 2001 including an in the studio jam has been added, as well as some unknow live stuff broadcast on 3/27/90 to promote a gig from CBGB's. I just got some video of the band at various stages as well that I will put up once I get some help converting the files to MPEG format. Former AP guitarist, John Potenza, has recently contacted me and has some stuff to contribute to the site, so look out for some more stuff from the 1989-1991 era.. Also, all the Harsh Reality releases have been added to the page with music samples and artwork, including links to where you can buy the CDs.

I hope that everyone had a nice Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate and will have a great new year. I have been busy and have added a lot of live material to the site. All the Strange Daze concerts, Orion and Quarkstock festival gigs are up now. Rare demos from Life on Earth, Prince Chubbs sessions, Cleopatra sessions, LFO/UFO sessions from 1996, etc.. are up now for you to get our head into. Alien Planetscapes meets Scattered Planets is due out in January 2007.. Remember if you have any AP pics, flyers, etc.. please send them..

I have just added a rare jam of Doug Walker and Peter Brotzmann and Friends at the Public Access Synthesizer Studio, NYC 5/8/83. There are 3 pieces in this approx. 70min session (30, 13 and 22min). This music is pretty extreme but quite historical. I should also mention that my band, the Øresund Space Collective, have just released a new CD entitled, "It's all about Delay" and the opening track of CD 2 is entitled, "jupiter Flyby (Dedicated to Doug Walker). You can buy the CD direct from Scott if you are in Europe or via the Aural Innovations store in the USA.

I just received a copy of the AP Flight Lot, which is like a scrapbook from over the years and includes record label contracts, reject letters, gig flyers, reviews, and lots more. I can see from this that there are at least 5-10 releases that are not listed in the discography and I have never heard of as well as a lot of concerts. All of these have been added. I am scanning now and will put in some links. I also just got the latest AP release Live 1/18/83 WFMU 91.1. IT should be available from Aural Innovations soon. Also, just added links that will take you straight from the releases to where you can buy them when they are available.

Ok... the first new-old Alien Planetscapes music has been cleaned up from the original 80's releases and is now out on the Harsh Reality Label by Chris Phinney. All 7 AP releases from Harsh Reality cassette tapes are now available on CD-R at a very good price. YOu can purchase them from Harsh Reality or Aural Innovations store. The proceeds go directly to a fund for Evan, Doug and Fran's son. Get them now, while they are hot!

On this day, American independence Day, I have updated the web page with a small history of what it was like to be in Alien Planetscapes during the "Reagan Era" 1986-1988 by the one and only Carl Howard. Please read and enjoy. He makes some special politcal commentary at the end, which is unfortunately all too true. The real question now days is how independent and free are Americans? How much worse can it get before the people revolt and get rid of the bastards that are destroying the country?? How long?? Doug and I used to have long politcal conversations and he envyed me as I was able to escape. I told him there would always be a place for him. Here are a few email quotes from Doug:

It is the longest day of the year today and if it was not cloudy it would be light until 11PM in Denmark. I just received some cooll concert photos from Richard today and have updated the web page (Roadhouse 92, Underground Lounge 94, misc live 97'). I also just received some CD-Rs from J.Kranitz, so some more MP3 will be put up soon as well. I was told that Doug's memorial was very nice and a lot of old memories were shared. Doug will live on through this site for sure...

The memorial for Doug Walker will take place at his house located at 191-32 116th Avenue, Queens, New York on June 10th. I will put up more details when I receive them. People who knew Doug are encouraged to come by and contributions to a fund for his son, Evan would be greatly appreciated.

Ok.. a lot of new stuff has been added to the site and more stuff is coming all the time. The video of AP live from the Orion Space Rock Festival is in the video section as a real video file you can watch or download. Chris Altenhoff is back in June and this is when the site will really start to grow as I will get more new information. Richard Orlando is also sending new pics and scans all the time. An interview with Doug Walker in audio format is also up on the INterviews section.

My name is Scott Heller and I have been a friend of Doug Walkers for nearly 15 years and just one month ago Doug Passed away. The weeks previous to this Doug
and I had been working on the ideas for his bands web site. Sadly, just as I the information feed was starting to grow with Doug sending me new information every
few days, he decided it was time to leave this earth. Now, I am left with a huge job to try to do a decent job, but luckily there are a lot of people who also believe
that this is an important job to make a comprehensive Alien Planetscapes web site. IT is going to be a slow process but eventually you will learn a lot as all the people
who were part of Doug's inner circle of music and life get involved. Right now, there is only very little information but I will add more and more as time goes on and if you
have concert ads, pictures of the band, old cassette tapes that are not listed in the discography, please email me the information.
